Last weekend, a 21 year-old man was arrested on charges that he had given marijuana to a high school student who then in turn sold it to his friends for some quick cash. Nothing about the story was that unusual—aside from the fact that the suspect named Takeuchi appeared to be the son of Toru Takeuchi, a member of famous Japanese rock band The Checkers.
But most comments were fixated on Takeuchi’s strange half-shaved, half-bald hairstyle. Some even wondered if his strange baldness might be the reason he had turned to a life of crime.

“21 Year-Old Male Arrested On Suspicion Of Handing Over Marijuana To 3rd Year High School Student
A man has been arrested by Metropolitan Police for handing over marijuana to a male high school student.
The suspect named Takeuchi, who is unemployed, is suspected of supplying a 3rd year high school student (age 18) with roughly 0.5 grams of marijuana at his home in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo in June.
The boy was also arrested for selling the drug to a 17-year-old classmate for 7,000 yen.
The boy received marijuana from Takeuchi ten times, using it for himself and also selling it to classmates “for spending money”, as he testified.
Police are continuing to work on uncovering the full extent of drug corruption within the school.
