An English teacher at a Kanagawa middle school recently subjected his students to an impromptu “show and tell” when he inadvertently played a porn film that had been left in his DVD player instead of the innocuous classic, “The Sound of Music”.
But netizens have been quick to jump to the teacher’s defense, pointing out that any man could find themselves in his shoes.
The teacher claims he had brought the DVD player from home. Let’s hope it’s not the one he uses for private lessons.

Kanagawa Middle School Teacher Means To Play Famous Film For Students But Plays Porn DVD Instead
At Mannou Municipal Middle School, Mannou, Kanagawa Prefecture, there was a scandal when an English teacher in his fifties was about to show his students the well-know American film “The Sound of Music”, but ended up playing them a porn DVD that belonged to him.
According to a Mannou municipal education committee member, the male teacher attempted to show his first year class [aged 12 -13] “The Sound of Music” as an educational resource, and when he asked his students to connect the DVD player, which he had brought in himself, the adult DVD that had originally been inserted in the player was played in the classroom for a few seconds.
Due to the fact that at that time there had been no DVD player in the classroom, the teacher brought it from home. The porn film belonged to him, and the obscene footage, which played automatically when the DVD player was connected, was a scene that his students later revealed their shock at, saying “We were so surprised”.
When the 29 students in his class were surveyed, 8 had witnessed the footage. There were phone calls of complaint to the school from the children’s guardians almost immediately. Around 70 people attended an explanatory session the next day for all guardians with children at the school. The teacher himself said, “I hadn’t used that DVD player for more than 2 years. I apologise sincerely to the students”. The prefectural education committee policy is to punish the teacher.

This is like something that would happen in a manga.
Don’t make problem after problem for him now though…almost all men have such things.
I want people to be tolerant enough to just laugh and forgive him.
ジークフリート(alp…)さん:
He’s a great teacher (笑)
オチャムリン(sdw…)さん:
This is like the kind of stories they tell in comedy sketches. When you’re using something that belongs to you, you must make sure that you check what’s inside it.

Broadcasting incident.

Let their guardians just think of it as sex education.

Is this really a matter for the newspapers?

Are they really at an age where they’d be shocked?
There’s no need for parents to be involved.
Complaints? I just don’t get it.
てっちゃん(tet…)さん:
I’m sorry to the teacher for this, but I laughed my ass off at this.
Japan must be such a peaceful country that this kind of stuff can be made into an article.
kamisama(uso…)さん:
This is nothing more than a funny story.
ace**premet*am(ace…)さん:
Don’t make this news!
mdnfi7007(mdn…)さん:
It seems like he had no ill will, so please don’t bully the teacher! If he was made to explain such an incident at a session for their guardians, it must have been traumatic…

Don’t be all phoning the school complaining all the time over something like this! ! !

Does Japan want to become the kind of country that’s going to be picky about punishing this teacher? Or does Japan want to be a country that’s just oing to laugh at it? Because I reckon that the latter is by far going to be the best country, and the easiest to live in. What’s more, I feel that it’s the kind of teachers and education committee members who’ll say this is outrageous, and seriously delibrate a punishment for this guy who are virtually the same as those brutes who cover up student suicides due to their bullying. That’s just what I reckon.

I’ve done exactly the same thing in front of my girlfriend and my mother.
If you’re a man, could happen to you tomorrow.
ウエンツ優子(one…)さん:
Come on, he didn’t show it on purpose, so there’s no need to punish him, and there’s also no need for this to make the news.
結果オーライ(db_…)さん:
Just laugh and forgive him ww
せつら(akk…)さん:
I don’t suppose he had any ill will, but isn’t he going to be labelled as the porn teacher for the rest of his life?
I guess I feel a bit sorry for him?
max(def…)さん:
Wrong is wrong.
I suppose a bit of punishment is also necessary.
But isn’t it going overboard to make news out of this?
Won’t it be enough to just give him a “warning” or a “reprimand” as a punishment?
