On May 27 a boy tweeted about his first hand experience in seeing two female high school students bullying a pregnant mother and her child, who had Down syndrome. Appalled by what he saw, he posted about the incident online and the tweet quickly gathered more than 6000 retweets, and has now approached 20,000 retweets.
Incidents of female high school students (known as ‘joshi kosei’ ) or female middle school students (‘joshi chusei’) behaving badly have caught the attention of media outlets in recent years, and it seems netizens are no less disapproving.
From Hamusoku:
“Twitter Users Inspired By One Boy’s Actions, 6000+ Retweets”
I’ve written about something that happened to me today. It was impossible with only 140 characters so I took a screen shot – have a look if you like.
It happened on my way back from my part time job
I was walking back to my house when
a pregnant woman came from the opposite direction,
with a child who had Down’s syndrome
I just passed by them but just then
I heard somebody behind me say, “That’s so revolting”
when I looked back, there were two middle school or high school girls
and they were talking to the Down’s syndrome child telling the child
that they were disgusting and they should go and die
I wanted to say something to the girls so I went up to them
and one of the girls was saying
“why the hell are you trying to give birth to another freak like this?”
and made as if to hit the pregnant woman in the stomach with her bag
I panicked and stepped in between the girl and the woman, so it actually
ended up with me getting hit
the bag looked pretty heavy and I was just thinking “it that hits the pregnant lady…”
at which point I pretty much lost it,
saying “do you idiots even understand what could have happened if I hadn’t stopped you?”
they just said to me, “ugh, you’re so annoying, what a freak” before going off somewhere
I was so mad that girls like this actually exist
I wasn’t only angry that they tried to hit a pregnant woman in the stomach,
but also personally felt angry that they called the child with Down ’s syndrome “disgusting”
and also because they acted like they hadn’t even done anything wrong
and just went off somewhere
there was one thing did make me smile though – afterwards the woman
let me touch her stomach and the baby was moving around loads
the woman said that the baby was saying “thank you” to me
so then I felt better
I don’t know, maybe this is meaningless but
I just wrote it down because I wanted people to
know that this happened
I didn’t write it out very well so maybe it’s difficult to understand but
thank you for reading this.

This has gotta be made up. I mean, is this guy an idiot? Report it to the police already. I actually feel annoyed at you.

I’m just grateful they were able to smile afterwards… Even if you can’t accept something, violence is never the answer. I take my hat off to you, sir.
せやけど工藤 @hennabutyou
So, basically, you wrote about how “I’m so nice to everyone, aren’t I so amazing?”.. You would have been cooler if you hadn’t said anything.

Everyone is just trying their best to life their lives.

There are a lot of people who say hurtful things to each other even though we all have the same blood running through us…
七海 @04071014
Someone needs to do the same thing to them when they get pregnant…
林檎 @apple_orinaco
These girls will understand the senselessness of their actions in the future when they get pregnant themselves.
パルスケ @pagumirut93
The thing that really annoys me about these kind of stories is that the people around would have seen, but would have just passed by without a second glance.
ぐら‐カク @gura_cube
If this is true, you need to do something about it…

What kind of upbringing did these kids get to have so little empathy?
