As Christmas approaches, and mistletoe begins to appear over doorways, Japanese netizens have come up with a genius idea to capture how people look when they kiss — which has now become an inventive app.
A 2ch netizen came up with the idea for an app that would capture how a girl looked when she was about to kiss someone without her knowing. The idea was to make an app with a flickering candle that the girl then had to try and blow out, secretly taking her photo as she does so. Within weeks, developers at Yahoo! had actually made the app, which is now available on Google Play.

Kiss the screen!
The app “Kisushiyo” [Let’s Kiss], is an app where when you try to blow out the candle displayed on the screen, the camera turns on and at that moment takes a photo of your face. So you pretend to the girl you like that it’s a fortune-telling app or something like that, and when you get her to blow on the screen you get a picture of her kissing.

You get a picture of her kissing!
In fact, this idea began with 2ch. Early in December, a thread was started on the “Nyuusu sokuho (VIP)” board entitled “I just thought of an amazing idea for an app wwwwwwwwwwwww”, and the content of what the app would be like was posted as follows:
• On the screen there is a picture of a flickering candle flame.
• You say to the girl “Try to blow out the candle ww”
• She blows on the screen, and at the moment that the flame goes out, the camera silently turns on.
• It takes a kiss picture of the girl wwwwwwww
Other 2ch users wholeheartedly supported that impromptu idea by the original poster, saying “This is real genius”, “I’m just so impressed”, “Just opened Google Play — not there yet?”. It was even included on internet trend compilation sites, becoming a hot topic. In the meantime though, they realised that it had actually appeared on Yahoo! The app was developed with such speed that it was truly shocking.
