The recent Japanese general election has prompted media organisations to search for opinions from all sectors of society, but who has stopped to ask cats what they think about the political state of Japan today?
A cat that responded very strongly to the image of the victorious Liberal Democratic Party’s secretary-general Ishiba Shigeru. When Ishiba appeared on the screen, the cat became extremely excited, and its behaviour was so unusual that its owner was prompted to post the picture on their Twitter account. The tweet has become a talking point for Japanese netizens, with the original image being re-tweeted over ten thousand times.
From Rocket News 24:
[Shocking Moment]: Cat Responds to LDP Secretary-General Ishiba Shigeru! Becomes Furiously Excited and Starts Going Crazy!
The image of LDP secretary-general Ishiba Shigeru on a television programme related to the election. A phenomenon has occurred where a cat who was watching the programme became furiously excited and started going crazy. Apparently the cat’s owner was really surprised by the cat’s excited stated, and immediately took a photograph.
When they uploaded a photograph on Twitter with the title ‘Picture of a cat getting excited when it sees secretary-general Ishiba Shigeru’, it started trending online and the photograph spread. It seems like it was a cat that didn’t usually go crazy like this…
The cat’s owner is the Twitter user @fkatsura. Cats occasionally respond to the television, but why might this cat have become excited after seeing Ishiba Shigeru? Maybe he had some kind of aura or something exuding from him that only a cat could understand.
By the way, the only photographs of this cat that have spread online are of it going crazy, but it seems that it is usually a cute, charming and relaxing little pussycat. The image of it getting excited is unique and therefore funny, but there are also photographs online of the cat in its usually cute state!
